Forensic Mapping 

Forensic mapping is the process of using electronic survey equipment to capture precise 3D measurements from an accident scene. Surveys can be used to preserve the spatial relationships between the evidence present at the scene. This data can later be used to provide accurate 2D or 3D representation of the accident scene. Forensic mapping is an essential part of the preservation of evidence.
