Heavy Vehicle Crash ReconstructionMost heavy vehicles on the road today are equipped with event data recorders (EDRs). Potential data is dependent on the engine manufacturer. Unlike passenger vehicles, heavy vehicle EDRs contain highly volatile data that can be erased or overwritten if not properly preserved. We are fully equipped to image the data on most heavy vehicles including: Detroit Diesel, Mercedes Benz, Cummins, Caterpillar, Volvo, International, Bendix, and Meritor.
If a heavy vehicle is severely damaged and can no longer receive proper voltage, the data modules can be removed and imaged in a lab environment. We have the abilities to directly image these types of modules from the following manufacturers: Detroit Diesel, Mercedes Benz, Cummins, and Caterpillar. * All Mack's and Volvo's (2010 or newer) have proprietary software that is not available to the public. They can only be imaged by one of the four designated service providers in North America. |
